Cookie policy

What is a cookie?
A cookie is a really small text file that is installed on your hard drive by a web server. It is actually a kind of identifier that helps to distinguish one user from another. A cookie is unique and can only be read by the server that has supplied you with the cookie. Other technologies, such as JavaScripts or web beacons, are standard internet technologies that make it possible to store data inside cookies, to send data and to keep track of how often a page is viewed.

What are cookies used for?
Cookies have different functions and can be divided into three categories: functional cookies, analytical cookies and tracking cookies. Functional cookies are cookies that are required to enable the website to function. Examples include cookies that remember which language setting you have chosen and cookies that remember which products are in your basket. Analytical cookies are used for purposes that include measuring the quality and effectiveness of the website, such as by recording visitor statistics. Google Analytics is often used for this. Tracking cookies are cookies that record your browsing behaviour on a website in order to build a profile of you that forms the basis for displaying information which is relevant to you, such as adverts.
